Cruz Review: Like Palin, nice to look at, but also light on substance!

Gotta say up front, I'm a huge fan of Mr. Koontz as a writer, all the more reason ya need to be careful what you stick your name, take the graphic novel from his popular -- Odd Thomas series...as promised here's my short review:

Book Genre: A-god-awful-Graphic-Novel that focuses on a nineteen-year-old-everyman named Odd with a strange gift: he sees dead people -- ('sure, with the right director this could be a big hit film).

Story Blurb: This story focuses mostly on introducing Odds worlds visually, and his journey to solve the death of boy.

Page-turner meter, (or the can't-put-it-down factor): On a scale of 1-10, this gets a very weak four. While I could be the wrong audience -- (any loyal Koontz fan reading this and expecting another Odd Thomas adventure from the popular books will be sorely disappointed) -- it's very light on story and, well cartoonish in a really bad way...a no brainer, and not up to Koontz master-level-of-suspense...'in other words, don't go digging for much and you'll still be pissed.

What I really liked: The art is great, and the visual manga elements are fun...but, again, if you're over the age of 10 years old this books talks down to the reader and over explains the story.

What I least liked: Hmm, if I did send a letter to to Mr. Koontz on this book it might read like this: I think part of the problem when you set the bar so high, with the Odd Thomas book series, you really really gotta think long and hard about the reader and what-you-stick-your-name-on.

'I wonder if it's just ego, to see your name in big bold letters, or for another pay check...but, you only serve to lose points when you waste paper on this....'hugs and kisses. xox A loyal fan.

'On tap next in the world of Books is the rest of the Twilight Books and finishing up In the Woods -- (got a great read, leave me a comment):
