The McSame-camp did get one thing right this week, no not the ad (pictured here) that appeared on Friday mornings Wall Street Journal website -- hours before the actual presidential debates saying McCain is the winner...'that's just another presumptuous misstep.
The fact is that most voters already have 'their candidate.' -- So, 'new arguments and evidence fall on deaf ears.' -- 'guess saying you're a winner...way before the debate, just depends on who you talk to...
Kinda funny for a country that might truly want change, our minds are not really geared towards embracing change.
To have real change -- 'we must be open-minded, flexible and willing to revise our opinions when new evidence warrants it. Most important, we must be able to recognize and acknowledge when we are wrong,' suggests Salon.com.
Unfortanely, brain-scientist -- 'offers some fairly sobering observations about our ability to judge ourselves and others.'
In a paper entitled -- 'Unskilled and Unaware of It: How Difficulties in Recognizing One's Own Incompetence Lead to Inflated Self-Assessments.' -- researchers agreed:
(1) Incompetent individuals tend to overestimate their own level of skill.
(2) Incompetent individuals fail to recognize genuine skill in others.
(3) Incompetent individuals fail to recognize the extremity of their inadequacy.
Their big conclusion -- 'People who lack the knowledge or wisdom to perform well are often unaware of this fact. That is, the same incompetence that leads them to make wrong choices also deprives them of the savvy necessary to recognize competence, be it their own or anyone else's.'
In other words stupid people often don't know they're so stupid...or how wrong they actually are.
No matter how many debates you have...we'll all stupidly-cherry-pick what we want to hear...
'speaking of stupid people: Here's -- '100% legit footage of the 1984 Miss Alaska Pageant featuring Sarah Palin.' Yep, the lady who, if Barack Obama screws up bad enough, might be the next President of the United States...
