Oscar's Curse: I don't know if I will ever write another highbrow, artsy movie...

Fresh off 'Juno,' -- (which earned her best original screenplay) -- 'Diablo Cody's post-Oscar decided it was time to make a horror flick.

"I was just experimenting with several scripts," said Cody (LA Times) -- who's also working on a Showtime show -- 'The United States of Tara,' and the script for the college comedy "Girly Style."

"I did not think this would be my follow-up to 'Juno.' But I don't know if I will ever write [another] highbrow, artsy movie."

'Oscars Curse looming? -- 'Cody tried to get her Oscar out of her mind -- and eyesight. "I literally put it away -- under my bathroom sink with the toilet paper," she said. "It was difficult to look at. I wanted to think of something else."

On being a former blogger, she rants: "I'm a 30-year-old woman with a dwindling interest in blog culture, and I don't have time to address this bulls--- every time one of my projects comes out. I'm in love, I just bought a house, and my boss made E.T. I kind of have to focus on reality." --(via her myspace page).

In response to haters she added -- 'I am not Charlie Kaufman or Sofia Coppola (much as I supplicate at their Cannes-weary feet.)...'

'I am middle-class trash from the Midwest. I'm a competent nonfiction writer, an admittedly green screenwriter, and a product of Hollywood, USA. I am "Diablo Cody" and if you're not a fan, go rent Prospero's Books again and leave me the fuck alone.'

'I may have won 19 awards that you don't feel I earned, but it's neither original nor relevant to slag on Juno. Really. And you're not some bold, singular voice of dissent.'

Ouch, this rant does sound a bit like someone has a bit of that sophmore pressure rested on her shoulders. Take it easy and keep doing what you do...'lifes too short to focus on the negative stuff, eh?
