Vampires: too big to fail

HBO_True_Blood_3.jpg

There's a line in that Cyndi Lauper song 'Money Changes Everything' that goes: 'there was one thing we weren't really thinking of and that's money.'

yeah, you sang it right Cyndi --

'ain't it always about the almighty dollar?

That came to mind while I'm flipping through all the daily papers. Got me thinking well, if they just stick a Vampire in this problem, well -- it just might change everything...maybe even for the better.

Don't get me wrong here, I'm looking forward to HBO's True Blood (which for my money got it just right: Vampires and sex = hit).

I'll also be one of the first twihards in line for the next fix of that dumb low-rent -- c'mon sparkly vampires? really? -- Twilight saga -- (just call me a big sucker for a sexless romance) -- I'll be wearing my pink Go team Edward t-shirt.

'Even got love for that CW Vampire Diaries show.

And if that isn't enough, I'm sure I'll be reading a bunch of the latest Vampire Novels (including Justin Cronin's vampire saga 'The Passage')...Hoo Boy that's one mighty big door stopper of a book too.

'gotta draw a bloody line in that unearthly sand when I read that the Goody Two-Shoes' Disney owned ABC just jumped on the out-for-blood cash $ wagon --

We'll have to see just how sexy (or un-sexy) “The Gates” dares to be. True Blood has set the bar pretty high.

'Gotta wonder about overkill here.

Will there come a point when people grow tired of vampires? -- if not, well then can't we solve the economic meltdown -- by just creating a new too-big-to-fail institution: make sure we put Vampires in just about everything that comes out.

'just sayin'

'Pretty sure we can get away with sticking at least one vampire in every TV show, movie, video game and book.

Financial meltdown solved!! -- so, where's my Pulitzer?

I know for sure I'd watch, but then again I'm so easily entertained.
